Roleplaying with a group of friends is a wonderful experience with lots of memorable moments. Defeating your group’s arch nemesis, having a grand battle with a mighty dragon or simply a hilarious situation that your character found themselves in are the core of meeting at the game table again and again and again.
It does not matter if you are playing Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Cyberpunk or whatever tabletop roleplaying game has caught your heart, your notes are a mighty part of your adventure. They help you out when you need to remember a tiny detail from a session three months ago and most importantly hold the memories of your adventure.
Is it not quite strange then, that notetaking is not top of mind for most players? In a lot of games I see that there is usually one or two persons that jot down notes seriously and the whole group depends on them to be the archivist of the group. And yeah, you probably already guessed correctly: In my campaigns that person would be me.
Do not get me wrong! I love being the scribe of my adventuring party and everyone is really appreciative and supportive about that, but sometimes I wish I could motivate the others to chip in a bit. My favourite moments are not necessarily theirs.
That is why I decided to create this blog. I want to share with you the simple joy of logging your adventures and provide some of the tips and tricks to grant you a level up for your note-taking skill! And who knows, I might also learn a lot, so keep the feedback coming and tell me how you record your party’s adventure!
